This decision document amends the selected remedial action for the New Bedford211u001eHarbor Superfund Site, Hot Spot Operable Unit locate din New Bedford, 211u001eMassachusetts, as outlined in the April 6, 1990 Record of Decision. The 1990 ROD 211u001ecalled for dredging contaminated sediments from the identified hot spot areas 211u001ewith PCB concentrations of 4,000 ppm or greater, transporting the dredged 211u001esediments to a shoreline Confined Disposal Facility (CDF), treatment of the 211u001esupernatant, dewatering the sediments and destruction of the PCBs in an on-site 211u001eincinerator. The activities associated with dredging the hot spot areas and 211u001etreating the supernatant have been completed. This decision document selects off-211u001esite landfilling instead of on-site incineration.
