Health Promotion in Active Duty Women with Children; Final rept., 01 Sep 96 to 01 Aug 98

摘要

One purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which selected demographic characteristics, definition of health, perceived health status, perceived self efficacy, and resources were related to the health promoting behaviors of active duty women with children. A second purpose of this study was to describe qualitatively the experience of being an active duty woman with children to further identify the barriers faced and the strategies used to pursue health promotion. Grounded in and guided by the Pender's Health Promotion Model, this study employed a prospective descriptive exploratory design using methodological triangulation in a population of active duty military women with children.
