Models-3 is a flexible third generation software modeling system designed to211u001esimplify the development and use of the environmental assessment and other 211u001edecision support tools. It is designed for applications ranging from regulatory 211u001eand policy analysis to understanding the complex interactions of atmospheric 211u001echemistry and physics. This version of Models-3 contains a Community Multiscale 211u001eAir Quality (CMAQ) system for urban to regional scale air quality simulation of 211u001etropospheric ozone, acid deposition, visibility and fine particulate. Models-3 211u001eand CMAQ in combination form a powerful third generation air quality modeling and 211u001eassessment system. Third generation models treat multiple pollutants 211u001esimultaneously up to continental scales and incorporate feedback between chemical 211u001eand meteorological components.
