Potential Application of Behavior-Based Safety in the Trucking Industry

The purpose of this research is to gain an understanding of Behavior-Based Safety211u001e(BBS) principals and to determine its applicability to the measurement and 211u001emanagement of commercial motor vehicle driver performance and safety. As such, 211u001ethe contractor conducted a series of 3 presentation on BBS in late-August 1998. 211u001eTwo presentations were conducted at the HQ Department of Transportation and one 211u001ewas conducted at HQ American Trucking Associations Foundation, Inc. A question 211u001eand answer session follwed each presentation.
