Genetically Engineered Plants in the Environment:Applications and Issues

The objectives of the review are to: (1) provide a brief summary of the major211u001eproposed applications of engineered plants, (2) highlight published results on 211u001etheir potential non-target effects, (3) suggest points to consider in developing 211u001eand releasing engineered plants, (4) propose research needed to identify 211u001epotential long term effects of releasing engineered plants and (5) briefly 211u001ediscuss potential impacts of regulations, intellectual property rights and public 211u001eacceptance on the development, safety evaluation and commercialization of 211u001eengineered plant products.
