This report presents tabular information and highlights from the 1997 Uniform211u001eFacility Data Set (UFDS) survey, conducted between October 1997 and March 1998 211u001efor the reference date of October 1, 1997. It was the 21st in a series of 211u001enational surveys designed to measure the location, characteristics, and use of 211u001ealcoholism and drug abuse treatment facilities and services throughout the United 211u001eStates, the District of Columbia, and other U.S. judrisdictions. UFDS is the 211u001eresponsibility of the Office of Applied Studies, Substance Abuse and Mental 211u001eHealth Services Administration (SAMHSA).
