This report (1) describes the hydrogeologic framework in Kings and Queens211u001eCounties, including the hydraulic properties of aquifers and confining units, the 211u001eaverage pumping rates and locations of wells in use at present, the spatial 211u001edistribution of ground-water recharge, ground-water levels and discharge of 211u001estreams; (2) explains development of the ground-water-flow model and its 211u001eapplication in evaluating the feasibility of using ground water as a supplemental 211u001esource of public supply; (3) summarizes the results of several pumping scenarios 211u001ethat represent periodic pumping under hydrologic conditions in 1991, and periodic 211u001epumping starting from a condition in which the maximum amount of water is stored 211u001ein the aquifer; and (4) evaluates the effect of enhanced recharge on the duration 211u001eof water-level-recovery periods between the simulated pumping periods.
