Relations of Surface-Water Quality to Streamflow in the Atlantic Coastal, Lower211 Delaware River, and Delaware Bay Basins, New Jersey, Water Years 1976-93

This report presents the results of analyses of 18 water-quality constituents in211u001esamples collected at 28 surface-water-quality stations within the Atlantic 211u001eCoastal, lower Delaware River, and Delaware Bay Basins (referred to as the study 211u001earea) during water years 1976-93 (October 1, 1975, through September 30, 1993). 211u001eRelations between each of the 18 constituents and streamflow at the 28 stations 211u001eover the period of record were determined by testing for trends in the 211u001econcentrations of constituents during low and high flows. Qualitative values of 211u001econtributions from constant (point sources and ground water) and intermittent 211u001e(nonpoint storm runoff) sources were estimated statistically by examining the 211u001erelations between concentrations of constituents and steamflow, and load and 211u001estreamflow.
