Method 1631, Revision B The 'Method' is for determination of mercury (Hg) in211u001efiltered and unfiltered water by oxidation, purge and trap, desorption, and cold-211u001evapor atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CVAFS). This Method is for determination 211u001eof Hg in the range of 0.5-100 mg/L and may be extended to higher levels by 211u001eselection of a smaller sample size. This Method includes suggestions for 211u001eimprovements in facilities and analytical techniques that should minimize 211u001econtamination and maximize the ability of the laboratory to make reliable trace 211u001emetals determinations.
