摘要

The objective of this study is to construct a physical model of the vertical wall211u001eabutment in the hydraulics laboratory flume and place two types of clay 211u001e(Montmorillonite and Kaolinite) around the abutment site with different Initial 211u001eWater Content, clay content and compaction. Chapter 2 provides a literature 211u001ereview. Chapter 3 handles the cohesive soil properties in two sections. Chapter 4 211u001eis explaining the experimental equipment and procedures that are performed on the 211u001eclay. Chapter 5 is devoted to the analysis of the results beginning with the 211u001edimensional analysis then the geometry of the scour hole. Chapter 6 presents the 211u001esummary of the investigation, the conclusion, and the recommendations for future 211u001estudies.
