Effect of Deinking Chemicals in Flotation Deinking of Paper

The design of chemical systems is based on the mechanisms, which still are211u001ewithout general agreement. The aim of this work was to improve the understanding 211u001eof ink release, fragmentation and agglomeration mechanisms in the pulper. A 211u001esuitable image analyses method, based on stereomicroscope and film scanner, was 211u001edeveloped for this purpose. This work concentrates on the role of surface active 211u001eagents in deinking. The differences of circumstances between laboratory scale 211u001eexperiments and production line were verified to declare the relevancy of the 211u001elaboratory scale experiments. Process water samples, containing dissolved as well 211u001ecolloidal material, were collected from two deinking plants. The surface tensions 211u001eof the process water in the laboratory scale experiments were kept on the same 211u001elevel as the production line. The foaming was increased due to the colloidal 211u001ematerial when process water was used in laboratory scale experiments.
