The purpose of this report is to describe, to the extent possible: (1) The occurrence and distribution of selected elements in water, sediment, and aquatic biota of the Yakima River Basin; (2) The temporal variation for element concentration in filtered water and in suspended sediment at selected sites; (3) The suitability of surface water for preservation of aquatic life and protection of human health; and (4) The major natural and anthropogenic sources in the Yakima River Basin that affect observed water-quality conditions.
