Development, Assessment, and Implementation of an Evaluation for CDC's National211 Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR)

As part of a national disease prevention strategy, the Center for Disease211u001eControl's (CDC's) National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) provides funding 211u001eto establish or enhance state and territorial central registries to reduce cancer 211u001emortality. The purpose of this study was to review and revise the evaluation 211u001etools used to assess NPCR's progress toward meeting its goals and objectives. An 211u001eimportant recommendation was to develop a World Wide Web-based survey system for 211u001ecollecting evaluation data from the registries, and the CDC is already moving 211u001eforward with this plan. The data collected for this systems will receive greater 211u001eemphasis in achieving cancer control objectives through additional monitoring and 211u001efinancial support of the cancer registries.
