Review and Evaluation of Thermal Sensors for Use in Testing Firefighters211 Protective Clothing. Annual Report

The Center for Research on Textile Protection and Comfort (T-PACC) at North211u001eCarolina State University conducted a project which had, as its primary 211u001eobjective, the selection and evaluation of sensors that can be used to measure 211u001eheat transferred through firefighter protective clothing materials, with the 211u001eultimate goal of applying this knowledge base to the development of rugged, and 211u001edependable laboratory benchtop and fire scene specific sensor technology. The 211u001epurpose of this final report is to summarize the findings of this project and to 211u001erecommend future directions in protection measuring heat flux sensor development.
