This report outlines an experimental plan designed to quantify the effect of211u001eelevated temperature on the mechanical properties of high-strength concrete. The 211u001eexperimental program will examine the influences of the following factors: (1) 211u001edifferent steady-state test methods, (2) rates of heating, (3) water-to-211u001ecementitious materials (w/c) ratios (and implicitly compressive strengths), (4) 211u001einclusion or absence of silica fume (and implicitly paste density). These effects 211u001ewill be studied through 148 test combinations developed using a full factorial 211u001eexperimental design. the highest strength concrete to be tested is 95 MPa, and 211u001ethe lowest strength is 28 MPa.
