The goal of this course is to improve the ability of public health professionals211u001eto understand and use data routinely in their jobs. The course is intended 211u001eprimarily for health practitioners working in local and state health departments 211u001eor community-based health agencies. It will be most useful for individuals who 211u001ehave limited experience in using and interpreting data. The authors have 211u001eanticipated that participants in the course will come from a variety of 211u001edisciplines, occupations, and organizational affiliations. Additionally, the 211u001eauthors have assumed that the course will be used in variety of ways: As a 211u001eclassroom course with an on-site instructor; As a distance-learning course in a 211u001eself-study format; and As a stand-alone package for reference or self-study.
