The Forest and Nature Conservation Research and Development Center (FNCRDC) is211u001eone of the centers under the Forest Research and Development Agency (FORDA). The 211u001emission of FORDA is 'to find and to provide science and technology to support 211u001esustainable, diversified uses of forests for the benefit of people,' In view of 211u001ethe diversity and the extent of forestry research and development activities, 211u001emany activities that were formally based on Bogor are now centers in Bogor. 211u001eWithin FORDA, research on agroforestry is carried out by most of the member 211u001einstitutes. Research is concentrated on the trees and agroforestry systems found 211u001ein the regions served by each institute. The Institute of Forest Tree Improvement 211u001ein Purwobinangun, Yogyakarta, and the Institute of Seed Technology in Bogor have 211u001especific roles in agroforestry tree domestication.
