摘要

Invasive exotic plant (IEP) species are a significant threat to natural ecosystem integrity and biodiversity, and controlling IEPs is a high priority for the National Park Service. The Northern Colorado Plateau Network (NCPN) selected the early detection of IEPs as one of 10 monitoring protocols to be implemented as part of its long-term monitoring program. In conjunction with park staff, NCPN created a target list of priority IEPs for early detection. During surveys conducted on August 12–28, 2013, Capitol Reef National Park staff detected four priority IEP species on monitoring routes and three priority IEP species in transects along 50 kilometers of Highway 24.
