摘要

This paper presents the retrieval of temperature and pressure profiles from the 118.75 GHz oxygen line. This study is performed using simulated limb-sounding measurements in the frame of the sub millimeter instrument (SMR) that will be carried by the Odin satellite. The temperature and pressure is determined from the output of a 3 channel filter bank. It is shown that the temperature can be retrieved from 20 to 60 km with a vertical resolution of 5 km and an error of 2%, due to nonlinearity effects and a priori pressure uncertainty. The upper limit of 60 km is due to neglect of modeling the Zeeman splitting lines.
