Environmental Assessment Wild Horse Gathering for the Fifteenmile Wild Horse Herd Management Area.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Worland Field Office (WFO), proposes to gather excess wild horses in the Fifteenmile Wild Horse Herd Management Area (HMA), during the fall of 2000. This action would be implemented under the authority of the Wild Free-Roaming Horse and Burro Act of 1971, as amended, and this environmental assessment (EA) and capture plan. The purpose for management of wild, free roaming horses is to comply with law and policy pertaining to wild, free roaming horses on public lands. The policy of the BLM addresses a range of topics including establishment and maintenance of Appropriate Management Levels (AMLs) in Herd Management Areas (HMAs) in a humane, safe, efficient, and environmentally sound manner.
