This report provides analytical results for samples of mine dumps, mill tailings, and some unmined altered rocks. The analyses are intended to be used to characterize mineralized rocks in the Upper Animas River watershed. This study represents one component in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) program of integrated geologicalhydrological- biological-chemical studies underway in the UpperAnimas River watershed as part of the Abandoned Mine Lands Initiative (AMLI) to provide Federal land management agencies a scientific rationale for cost-effective restoration of public lands affected by historic mining Information reported here is part of the mine site, or metal source, component of the project.
