The present report constitutes a part of the larger ambition to analyze the development of international structures for dealing with IT-threats. The work that has been conducted within the UN has most likely affected the future of the issue area, even if, as a result of the discussions held within the UN, the issue will be handeled within a different forum. One of the merits of the discussions has been the introduction of the issue area globally. Thus, it has been interesting to follow the process in order to analyze the experiences drawn. In the report the processes within the UN is accounted for, from the draft resolution handed in by the Russian Federation, in which the threat is described as a disarmament issue, to the latest resolution approved by the UN. The dealing of the issue within the UN has nearly stagnated and some member countries have pronounced themselves uninterested in discussions conducted in the terms stipulated in the Russian draft. Contributing factors to this problem, e.g. heterogeneity among the members and different definitions of the threat, is continuously discussed in the report. Finally, future research angles within the area is proposed.
