摘要

The overall objective of this project was to design and develop an automated tester for traffic signal controllers which verifies the compliance of the controller to the applicable portions of the NEMA TS1-1989 standard. The tester is capable of automatically presenting test conditions to the controller and recording the responses of the controller. The responses are analyzed by the system software to compute the response times and other performance characteristics, and these results are stored in a database. The system software will also compare the results to a set of performance criteria, established by the user, and create a 'score card' report to indicate if the controller passed or failed the test. The anticipated uses of the NEMA Traffic Signal Controller Tester are to diagnose damaged controllers, certify repaired controllers, and acceptance testing of new products.
