摘要

The authors propose to conduct a series of experiments on the TRIDENT laserfacility to demonstrate the feasibility of FBI as a means of diagnosing laser-driven plasmas. Carried out in four phases, the principal goals of the TRIDENT campaign are: Phase I. To establish experimentally that the light levels associated with FBI are sufficient to measure, Phase II. To investigate the relationships between of tracer material, density, and size of doped region to fluorescent light intensity and measurement localization, Phase III. To evaluate the fluorescent signal as the density dynamically changes in a shocked foam, and Phase IV. To implement tracers as particulates and demonstrate experimentally the feasibility of point-imaging velocimetry (PIV).
