Mental Health Care in America: County Behavioral Health Authorities Speak Out

In response to the challenge of the recently issued first-ever Surgeon GeneralsReport on Mental Health, the National Association of County Behavioral Health Directors (NACBHD) embarked on a project to assess perceptions of policy priorities for local public sector behavioral health authorities. NACBHD also used this opportunity to evaluate perceptions of the services available in county-based behavioral health programs for people with severe and persistent mental illness.
