摘要

Power factor correction in some form or other is nowadays required in someapplications and it will be a must in the majority of electronic products in the future. There are several economical reasons and the major driving force is power quality and associated legislation and standards, which are demanding better quality from the input current of rectifier systems. Therefore, one of the inarguable results of the project is that the research group and the companies involved are now familiar with the up-to-date solutions and innovations existing in this area of power electronics. Moreover, we have a feeling of the direction the research and industrial applications are heading. This knowledge has been attained by the literature research done in the beginning of the project and on the continuous and careful following of the work going on all around the world.
