Skredriskanalys i Goeta Aelvdalen: Metodbeskrivning (Method for Risk Analysis Which Has Been Applied in Investigations along the Goeta River Valley).

A slope risk analysis consists thus of three parts: a probability analysis for a slope failure to occur, a determination of consequences of the slope failure, and finally a combination of all aspects and evaluations. The slope risk analysis presented in this report has been carried out in two separate steps along two different parts of the Gota alv valley, the Southern and the Northeastern part, respectively. Totally, about 20 sections have been analyzed in detail for each part. The distance between consecutive sections might be between several hundred meters and a few kilometers. Certain assumptions have thus by necessity been made for the areas between the analyzed sections. At a later stage, more detailed analyses must be carried out in connection with exploitation activities along the river valley. The basis for the slope risk analysis has been a safety factor against failure, calculated in the traditional way. This slope stability analysis has then been extended with a probability based analysis in a specific number of typical sections. The probability based analysis has been slightly different for the two parts of the valley, reflecting different geologic and geotechnical conditions.
