Workshop manual for participants at a meeting conducted (in Schiller Park IL)from February 24 to February 25, 1999. Designed for use by state and local policymakers and legislators, the manual contains information on developing managed care programs for rural areas, the impact of changing demographics and expectations on serving aging populations, using technology in rural areas, state assisted living (policy and practice), and the impact of home-based care on health care costs. It also contains information on the 'state' of the States in dealing with aging populations, and the role of government in meeting long-term care needs.
