Deepwater Gulf of Mexico Environmental and Socioeconomic Data Search andLiterature Synthesis. Volume 2. Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography was prepared as part of a comprehensive literaturesearch and synthesis of environmental and socioeconomic data for the deepwater Gulf of Mexico, defined as extending from a depth of 305 m (1,000 ft) to the border of the U.S. Exclusive Economic Zone. Overall project goals were to describe the ecosystem; understand environmental processes that drive the system; and understand processes potentially sensitive to anthropogenic activities, particularly oil and gas operations. The annotated bibliography includes 822 entries sorted by author and date. Topics include marine geology, physical oceanography, chemical oceanography, biological oceanography (including both water column and benthic communities), socioeconomics (including fisheries) and deepwater technology. Each bibliographic entry includes a reference number, a citation, an abstract (where available), and keywords.
