Methodological Aspects for Improving Clinical Value of SPECT and MRI

摘要

An intensive study was carried out to improve the clinical value obtained fromsingle photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). This became possible by developing data processing methods and validating their usefulness, accuracy and reliability in clinical environment. Topics involved in the study include: improvement in the reliability of regions of interest (ROI) analysis of SPECT images; gathering tissue boundary and volumetric information from brain MRI and validating the reliability of the process; and improvement in localization of epileptogenic foci in epilepsy surgery candidates.
