Arkansas and Louisiana Proposed Planning Analysis Environmental Assessment Disposition and Management of Public Domain Tracts.

This Planning Analysis/Environmental Assessment (PA-EA) analyzes alternatives and the proposed action for future management of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM)-administered lands in the states of Arkansas and Louisiana. All of the tracts are public domain lands for which the BLM has both surface land and subsurface minerals management responsibilities. The tracts are located in seven counties in Arkansas, and four parishes in Louisiana. Two issues were identified during the scoping process. The first issue was Land Ownership Adjustments - Which tracts should be retained in public ownership. And which should BLM dispose through sale, exchange or other means. The second issue was Special Management Areas - Which tracts should be identified for special management to protect or enhance specific resources. And how should these resources be managed.
