Chiral Mode Transformer for Soft and Hard Surface Waveguides.

摘要

Electronmagnetic fields inside circular, tuned corrugated waveguides, also called soft and hard surface waveguides are considered. The waveguide is filled with chiral material. The propagating eigenfields are presented. Recently studied case with small chirality parameter values is in this paper generalized. Also reflected and transmitted fields are considered. It is shown that the chiral soft and hard surface waveguide section of a proper length can be used as a mode transformer between TE and TM modes. This kind of waveguide component may be used as a matching element between different kinds of circular waveguides and antenna elements.
