Annual Report to the New York State Energy Plan and Final Environmental ImpactStatement

The 1998 Energy Plan supported competition in New York's energy markets, thecontinued safety and reliability of energy supplies and delivery systems, and improved environmental quality. Specifically, the 1998 Energy Plan identified three broad policy objectives: Promote Competition; Ensure Fairness, Equity, and Energy System Reliability; Promote a Clean and Healthy Environment. This section summarizes the State's accomplishments and initiatives undertaken toward these objectives. It should be noted that any one of the accomplishments might help meet one or more of the policy objectives.
