Using recycled materials in a proposed highway application frequently requiresassessment of both the physical and environmental performance; however, future behavior is often difficult to predict and long-term results of actual field installations are often unavailable. The objective of this research was to investigate an approach to predicting long-term physical and environmental performance of candidate recycled materials in typical highway applications using accelerated aging. The project was geared specifically towards the use of recycled materials in Portland cement concrete, but similar approaches may be possible for other materials.
