摘要

Bubble columns are applied in several processes at atmospheric and elevated system pressures. For design purposes, accurate estimations of holdup and mass transfer need to be made. Elevated pressure has a significant effect on holdup and mass transfer. This thesis examines the physical background of the pressure effect, in order to arrive at an improved estimation procedure for gas holdup and mass transfer at these pressures.
