This report treats the traveling surface wave on a three dimensional curved surface having edges. The essentials of a method to obtain the cross-section of targets by considering surface currents induced on the bodies are established. Scattering by inflection, tip, and corner points are excluded in this work. The authors begin with the results related with canonical problems in spherical case. The contributions on surface current of various diffraction phenomena on the perfectly conducting spherical sheet are obtained. The explicit expressions of high frequency scattered field are derived from the induced surface currents. The contributions of various diffraction phenomena to surface current are given explicitly. The physical and geometrical results in spherical case are extended to surfaces having different principal radii by combining with the physical behaviors of phenomena. The generalized results have been collected as the Physical and Surface Theory of Diffraction (PASTD). The results explain the contribution of surface currents to scattered field and introduce a method to obtain the RCS.
