This report (1) depicts the sea floor beneath and surrounding Goose Creek and Sloop Channel Bridges, (2) delineates the geologic characteristics of the sediment beneath the sea floor through seismic-reflection profiles, (3) depicts the three-dimensional flow characteristics of the tidal currents at Sloop Channel Bridge, and (4) delineates the extent of tidal scouring and infilling of scour holes at both bridges in July 1998. This report discusses the different geophysical techniques integrated to analyze the extent of tidal scour at the Sloop Channel and Goose Creek Bridges in southeast Nassau County, New York. The geophysical techniques included (1) use of a narrow-beam research-grade fathometer, (2) seismic- reflection surveys, and (3) ADCP measurements. All geophysical equipment were deployed from a 22-ft open-hull boat.
