Airborne Observation of Atmospheric Carbon Dioxide over Sagami-Bay, Japan.

In order to ascertain temporal and spatial variations in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2) levels near the Tokyo metropolitan area, air samples have been collected by airplane since December 1996, over Sagami-Bay in Japan. Sampling was carried out monthly from December 1996 to May 1997 and twice a month from June 1997 to December 1999, at eight altitudes from 0.5km to 7km. The CO2 concentration in these samples shows clear seasonal variation and secular increase.
