Socioeconomic Baseline and Projections of the Impact of an OCS Onshore Base for Selected Florida Panhandle Communities. Volume 3: User's Guide for the Model

This economic-demographic model projects both baseline and impact-related economic activity through the interaction of local output and labor force. Migration into and out of the Florida Panhandle is the force that restores equilibrium in the local economy. Economic activity drives changes in the population under age 65 (i.e., working-age people and their families) through migration. Baseline projections every five years from 1995 through 2045 indicate the levels of economic activity and population for the three metro areas that would likely occur with a continuation of present socioeconomic trends.
