Feasibility Study of the Electricity System Transmission Interconnection Project in Albania - Final Siting Study

The United States Trade and Development Agency (TDA) awarded a grant to the Government of Albania for the purpose of performing a siting and feasibility study for the development of a new thermal generation facility. The Albanian Ministry of Industry and Energy subsequently retained MWH Management Consulting to perform two tasks. Task One was to evaluate and select the best site, technology, and fuel for a new base load, thermal generation facility. Task Two was to conduct a feasibility study to evaluate the technical requirements as well as the environmental, economic, and financial viability of the generation facility at the selected site.
