Cranes in East Asia: Proceedings of the Symposium Held in Harbin, People's Republic of China June 9-18, 1998

This publication provides the proceedings of the symposium on cranes of Northeast Asia held at the Northeast Forestry University in Habrin, People's Republic of China during June 1998. Biologists studying cranes in the People's Republic of China, the Republic of Korea, People's Democratic Republic of Korea, and the United States contributed to the proceedings. Various aspects of crane biology are discussed including distribution, status, ecology, behavior, and physiology. Several papers provide recommendations for future conservation of crane species in Asia. An in-depth review of the use of biotelemetry also is provided.
