Field Dependent Local Effective Permittivity for the Finite Difference Analysis of Arbitrary Dielectric Interfaces

摘要

A new technique for improving the accuracy of the finite difference method in the estimation of the electric flux is presented. The local permittivity in the vicinity of material interface is dependent on the local electric field direction. Potential and the local permittivities are solved iteratively. The performance of the technique is studied by solving the electrostatic potential of a parallel plate capacitor with several different insulator dielectric geometries. The obtained total electric fluxes are compared to the reference results calculated with the finite element method. The results show that the new technique is a good tool in the estimation of the effective permittivity of the dielectric mixture.
