摘要

The purpose of these experiments was to test the hypothesis that oxidation of thiophenic sulfur to the mono or dioxide in FCC feed would reduce the sulfur in the liquid product. Three different matrices were tested including alkylated dibenzothiophene, bensothiophene and thiophene. For all three, the length of the alkyl side chains was adjusted so that the overall carbon number remained fairly constant at either 16 or 18. The smaller ring compound thiophene had a larger side chain to provide a suitable molecular weight in the FCC feed range. These compounds were mixed into reference high sulfur vacuum gas oil and tested in a bench scale MAT (fixed bed) FCC unit.
