Arcing Faults on Direct Current Trolley Systems.

摘要

This paper discusses tests that have been conducted to evaluate arcing short circuit faults on direct current trolley systems. Arcing faults supplied by single and multiple power sources and limited by various impedances were studied. Data were recorded to compare various system behavior during arching faults. The instrumentation, test procedures, electrode material and other factors affecting arcing faults are described. The results are systematically evaluated and are compared to present Federal Regulations. Areas of further study and research are also presented.
