Guidelines for Ensuring and Maximizing the Quality, Objectivity, Utility, and Integrity of Information Disseminated by the Department of Labor

On December 21, 2000, Congress passed Section 515 of the Treasury and General Government Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 20011 (the Act). OMB issued final guidance for implementing the Act, which required all Federal agencies to: Issue information quality guidelines ensuring and maximizing the quality, objectivity, utility, and integrity of information, including statistical information, disseminated by the Department; Establish administrative mechanisms allowing affected persons to seek and obtain correction of information maintained and disseminated by the Department that does not comply with the OMB guidelines; and Report to the Director of OMB the number and nature of complaints received regarding compliance with the OMB guidelines, including how the complaints were resolved.
