摘要

Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument in central New Mexico preserves the architectural history of the Spanish and Pueblo people who once lived in the area. Patches of high biodiversity occur in the monument where intermittent streamflow and a spring-fed pool surface along Ca?on Sapato in the Quarai Unit. The Southern Colorado Plateau Network (SCPN) monitors hydrologic conditions in Ca?on Sapato to document water levels in spring-fed pools and surface water runoff in Ca?on Sapato. The specific objectives of this project are to determine the status of surface and groundwater levels through varying seasons and climatic conditions within Ca?on Sapato, and any effects of substantial floods on the channel and associated wetland and riparian areas. This information will help park managers better understand the interaction between surface water and ground water in the stream.
