The National Head Start Child Development Institute establishes priorities for continuing to improve the quality and outcomes of child development systems and services for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and their families in the 21st century. This Implementation Planner provides a framework for focusing on what you know about your program. Information is gleaned from observing children and staff in action prior to arrival at the Institute, as well as from a variety of other sources such as ongoing monitoring, program self-assessment, Federal On-Site Systems Monitoring using Program Review Instrument for Systems Monitoring (PRISM), and parent feedback. The Implementation Planner will guide you and your team in refining a vision to enhance program quality, drafting a plan to achieve your vision, involving others in the process, and identifying strategies and timelines for implementation.
