The East Street Area 1 site of the General Electric (GE) site in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, is one of 10 areas being evaluated in separate public health assessments and health consultations. In addition, the Massachusetts Departments of Public Health (MDPH) is conducting or had conducted other health activities (e.g., descriptive analysis of cancer incidence data, ongoing serum polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) analyses for Pittsfield area residents), the results of which will be incorporated into the summary public health assessment for the GE sites.
