摘要

The Luano-Kansanshi 330kV line project involves construction of a power line between Luano Substation, in Chingola and Kansanshi Mine in Solwezi, a distance of approximately 200km. The transmission line will be constructed following the already existing way leave, which was acquired in the early 1970's for the Tika Project. Eventually the power line will be extended to Lumwana Project area in the Northwestern Province. The 24m high V-pylons (towers) with phase conductors at a height of 18.6m will be used. This will involve way leave clearance of approximately 50m. The main objective of this project is to supply firm power for industrial development in Northwestern especially new mining industries in the mineral rich parts of the Province like Solwezi and Mwinilunga. The 330kV power supply to the Province may increase the possibility of connecting all the districts to the main grid as most of the districts are being supplied by diesel generating sets.
