Review of Operating Economics and Finance Research Needs. Aquaculture White Paper No. 4

The following survey of potential NRAC research activity in aquaculture operating economics and finance is organized by species and by business area (recreation, biotechnology, etc.) rather than by state. Economic considerations are relatively similar throughout the region, although the value of specific economic variables such as prices of real estate and labor obviously vary. Species are discussed in this section in descending order of their current economic importance in the NR. The sections for each specie and sector discussed below generally cover: What businesses are or could be operating in the NR; Whether supporting economic information is currently available, and What further research would be useful.
